Some summer shopping

It probably have not gone unnoticed that I like to buy things, especially to my dear loved one’s. This summer I can’t afford any extravaganzas, but I bought a fair few things on the summer sale to me and O.

We bought a little clothes for him, as he are one messy baby. The two one pieces are just so adorable, the blue one is made of organic cotton and comes from Lindex. The one with the guitars on (in honour to his dad Adam) is from a second hand shop. The cute throusers are also from Lindex, and so is the socks.

My favorite drink at the moment, organic fruit drink from Saltå Kvarn. It is super tasty, and I use the bottles afterwards as water bottles. Good if you want to avoid the BPA rich plastic bottles.

After a long hunt, I found myself a pineapple bag. This beauty comes from H&M.

I also got a fair few new books. The two top one’s I got for free from my bank, and the two bottom one I found just lying about outdoors. It is sick that people abandon books like that!

And last, I got a new bag for my phone, from Golla Design and a yellow umbrella to pack down in O’s nursing bag. Adams comment about my new phone bag was: Could you not find a more girly one?. I informed him that I took the least girliest of the pink one’s.

And that was the latest shopping I have made.

VIP second hand shopping

Hey all!

Yesterday I got invited to the reopening of Dahlbergs second hand shop in town. The owner had moved to bigger and better rooms in town, instead of the remote area it was located at before, and I was full of excitement to see the new premises. So Adam and his mother Rachel and I went and did some extensive second hand shopping.

The invitation. If you ever come to Norrköping, I recommend you to visit Dahlbergs second hand.

The first thing we did was look around at the new interior. This is the tin and jars section, as you can see there’s lots of nice tins which are just waiting to be sold.

Two tins I liked particularly, but I did not buy them.

Adam was busy looking at small things in drawers.

Being a curious person, I had a look myself and found out what had caught his interest, it was lots of tiny boxes, glasses and coins.

Myself, I prefered the clothes section, as I am renewing my wardrobe. Can you imagine I have worn only 10 pieces of clothing since January?

Adam and Rachel also joined me in the clothes section. Here Adam tried a waistcoat, but it was too small for him, so it had to stay in the shop. It was about then I got very tired, so I needed to go home and rest.

At home I took some photos of my lovely finds, as seen below:

A summery shirt and jacket for me. A cute dress for the baby (if it’s a girl).

A Stig Lindberg plate, two wooden boxes for Adam and a tea tin.

It was a lovely day at one of my favorite shops in town, and I am glad I got invited to the reopening.

Initiative

When I came home yesterday, after a not so good day in school, I noticed a black bag standing on the living room table, with a note saying “Initiative”.

I knew right away it was Adam who had put it there, as I had asked him to start take more initiative around the house, maybe buy the baby something he chose himself. Full of curiosity, I opened the bag, and found this…..

A cute little hat for the baby, with the well known pattern “Moln” by Gunila Axén which was created already 1967. The designer have said herself she got a lot of inspiration from japanese design and that she was amazed by that you could tell so much with a simple pattern. The products with this pattern are sold by Färg&Form.

I am proud over Adam’s initiative taking and happy he got such a good taste in things. Baby sure will be happy about it’s clouds on a red sky-hat too.

Trading Day – A new (old) kind of shopping

Last saturday, it was the national trading day here in Sweden and as I get most of my clothes from trading days, I (of course) participated in this, and got 7 nice new things, 5 for me and 2 for Adam to renew our closets with. As it is good both for the environment and your wallet to trade clothes you’re tired of for “new” ones, I thought I was going to share with you some photos of my latest trading day. Trading days are a new (old) kind and fun way to shop things.

The day started off with that I woke up super early, a few hours before Adam, made breakfast and wrote Adam a note so he would know that I went out.

I had Ådi with me as company, plus a bag of clothes I was bored of and have not used for several years. As my closet is a real black hole, I do not even remember owning a few of the items I brought with me.

Around 11 I arrived at the trading day. As this is a informative post about trading days, I shall talk a little about what you do here. Normally you leave in your items between a certain period of hours (here between 10-12). You get a note saying that you have left in X items, which means that you can trade for that amount of items. If you leave in 5 items, but only find one you want to take home, you can of course only take that one thing with you. A normal thing is that a person who doesn’t  want more then a certain amount of items give their note away to other people.

A trading day is mostly a fun event, but I have been to one-two of them where people have been wild and grabbed everything they could, pushed and swore at each other. This is not okey I think, but it is up to the event leaders to have control over the situation. But if one person are rude, I normally tell them off, as it is not okey to push people around. The trading day I went to was calm though and people were considerate.

My finds on this day was a dress, a blazer, a skirt and two shirts for me. I also found Adam a jacket and a t-shirt which did suit him well. Fully satisfied with myself, I walked home, but passed the park instead, so I could see all the cherry trees blossom. A good ending on a good day.

Two things I did not imagine I would buy

Like this cute duck I saw, which will make a great birthday present for someone later this year. (That is a tip from my side, if you find something you imagine someone close would love, buy it now, even if their birthday are in 11 months time.)

And this lovely vintage dress I found. It did fit both me and bump, and it will have it’s premier use tomorrow. Until then it is hanging on the wall above my bed, where I can look at it every morning.

Vintage window shopping and a bird vernissage

Yesterday after school (having a heavy exam that shall be left in in two weeks demands 6 days/week of school work) I went strolling around, enjoying being outdoors. Vintage window shopping (I’m not buying anything at the moment so I can afford a pram) and a interesting vernissage stood on the menu.

Walking from my school to some of the best vintage stores in town, I passed some nice frozen waterfalls…

 …and gigantic outdoors chandeliers.

Hello :)

At the second hand shop Myrornas I found this lovely vintage dress with such amazing lace arms (I got to do something about my weakness for lace) in one dusty corner of the shop. I guess it is a wedding dress. Tempted to take it home and save it from hanging around in that corner , but I don’t think it would suit me in my current pregnant state. So I left it to make it cheer someone else up.

Also found this adorable dress for baby girls, but as I do not know the gender of my little sprog I left it hanging too. So if you are out after two nice dresses in Norrköping, run by Myrornas before I change my mind and go back and buy them!

Then I had to go, as the vernissage was almost due to start, but first a short stop on the road to get a pair of nice red roses to my love Adam.

My goal, Norrköping’s Art Museum showing an exhibition of Tyra Lundgren. A quite  multi-talented artist I must say.

The speeches was quite boring (it was more talk about Norrköping then about the artist) but such amazing artwork. So many people had come to see this opening already, and I am sure it will be popular. My favorite was the owl above, for obvious reasons.  The quote is written by Tyra herself, it is about her relationship to the birds which did influence her artwork a lot. I find art so inspiring and refreshing sometimes.

For this occasion I had dressed up in my Alice-dress with a warm cardigan with it. Both came from a second hand shop. I will show a proper outfit shoot tomorrow.

A quick last visit to the glass section of the exhibition, as I am fascinated by glass work mostly, then I started to walk home so I could eat and watch the Melody festival.

And the roses then? Adam got really happy about them and they ended up in our lovely green vase which I bought from a Chinese guy who did not know any swedish or english (we communicated through small notes where we drew pictures). And that was the end of my day with the creative part of society.

A whole day in pictures – My lunch/shopping/spa day with Emelie

Hey all!

Oh lately life has been going so fast, I begun a new term and are working with a new (effective) group in school and I got lots of fun things planned. But sometimes the normal life can be to much of the good, so I visited my friend Emelie last friday, and it was a good but a little unusual day.

Train travels can be so boring, so I had stocked up on good books to read, Ahlgrens’s cars (Swedens most sold car) and other things to do. But it ended up with that I made some toys for the baby which soon will come.

Some gifts to Emelie, a travel game and some travel sweets with a handy checklist on the back.

First thing I did after arrival was having some nice lunch as I was starving, lasagna with bread and some salad.

Little Loke was with us to. Can’t believe he is 9 months already!

Me with the baby in my arms. Dress is from H&M Divided, which miraculously fits my growing bump still.

Later Emelie and I went to do some shopping, at Cervera I found this nice cups (did not buy any though, I got so many cups that I don’t have any room left in my cupboards) and Emelie found a present for her mother.

Then some second hand shopping at Myrornas. I got a nice find in red for the baby, for almost nothing!

After shopping and refueling ourselves with dinner, it was time for some spa where we got a free massage and feet treatment, as it was Emelies friend who had an opening party. I was not sure if I was allowed to take some photos so this is the only one from the spa’s entrance. But I can tell you, my feet have never felt better afterwards!

Around 8 in the evening I said good bye and got given a goodie bag with some nice aloe vera based products, like a lip balm, some juice and a one time foot treatment. It was the good end to a good day.

At the flee market

Have been shopping alot lately, preparing for being 3 people in the household and I got a tip that it should be one of Southern Sweden’s biggest flee markets close to wear I live today. I love flee markets, I love to talk to the people there, I love the things you can find there and it gives you a great opportunity to find nice things cheap. I had in mind also to find a long dress but the clothes I found there was not in my taste, so I just bought books and bowls and bottles. I did also look for a baptising gift to my best friends son, but as she could see it I will not show it here yet.

Looking, talking, shopping. Looked like many people did find nice things!

Closer look on one of the tables. Nice things next to hideous things next to odd things next to more things. It surely is a treasure hunt, and I looked a long time on those bracelets in the top right corner. But ended up not buying it. Instead…

I ended up buying this. A old bowl (dirty though) and a childrens book about a cat named Pelle Svanslös (Pelle Tail Less). As I recently got a cat this did seem fitting to have! Plus it looks adorable.

Bought this gigantic bottle also. Liked the brown vintage feeling to it. But as it was really really heavy, I took a rest outside my university…

…and did finish a book. This is pretty much how I look most of the time, with my nose in a book, and if it is nice weather, I am outdoors. But as it don’t look good when I shall post my outfit, you normal don’t see it.

That is better! Standing up, facing the camera, and normal I post a few details on my outfit also. I will do so also this time, as my ring is also a flee market find.

Dress: Spotted Moth

Ring: Flee Market find

Necklace: Paola loves to shop

Shoes: Second hand

This was my day on the flee market. Do you tend to go to flee markets? If you do, do you ever find anything nice, or is it just worthless going there?

Little Green Dress

I seriously should be saving money for my London travel, but when I found this green dress, I just knew I got to have it. The clean lines was that caught my eye first, and I do know two times I will have a chance to use it already, both of the times in September. But I will show you guys how it look on me as soon as I found other clothes to combine it with, creating a new outfit. The most amazing part is that it is second hand and was in the sale. So I got it extremely cheap.

Second hand shopping

Hey all!

I went out shopping today in second hand stores together with my mum, as I got a tip from Virgine that it is a good way to get new clothes cheaply. We did not visit so many, but we went for the large one’s, and found lots of things that I wanted to take  home with me and put them in my bed and sleep with them. But I had to think logically and not buy that amazing brown and blue sun hat, or those colourful bags or yet an other dress. Instead, I went shoe shopping. I have mentioned it before on this blog, I hate shoe shopping, but in this store around the corner, I found a pair of glittery shiny dreams, for just 100 kr (€11)! I also bought these red wellies. I know I talked about a pair of baby blue ones, but I walked by these red  ones and thought it would look great with my umbrella I already had. It does not mean I’ve given up on the baby blues!

Wellies: Everest/Stadium

Glitter Heels: Thrifted

Those glitter dreams (I named them that), actually remind me of this photo taken with Hailee Steinfeld for Miu Miu.

Full of glittery dreams there, even if I am wondering why they chose a 14 year old to model? Actually, I think I will discuss this in a different post. Back to my shopping day.

As here are sales here (as everywhere else) I also decided to buy new nail polish from Viva la Diva and I got convinced to buy a lip gloss from Maybelline MNY. Cheap actually, I got both of them for 40 kr (€3). I shall try them later and tell you what I thought. :)

Then, exhausted of the shopping and the heat wave, we went to a bakery and tried out their new cakes there. As I promised you guys 3 new posts by making this post (I am an expert on giving myself extra work!) I will end this with sharing them with you. Mouth watering photos ahead!
