Old and wise

Responsibility and maturity is something you are expected to have when you are the oldest child in a family and so it have been in my family to. I am this good big sister that do anything for my brothers even if it means to lie and fight to help them and I am always there so they can talk to me.

I have noticed recently that my relationship to my brothers is pretty much the same as the relationship I have to my friends. Some of my friends can call me 2 in the morning, talking about how their boyfriend been mean this time, and others say that they are sad/angry/upset of various reasons and come to me for advise, or just whine about things that never gets better. It really feels like I am the old and wise lady among a bunch of kids, as it never seems to get any better for them, instead everything is still so dark.

I love my friends, just as I love my brothers, but I am seriously tired of being old and wise, I do have my own problems to solve and having the weight of X numbers other peoples problems is tearing me down. It has gone so far I have stopped to really care about their problems, and that does make me sad. How do you tell a person you like that they should grow up and take care of the problems, instead of dumping it all on me?

A life in a student corridor

Hey all!

Todays outfit post, very red/orange, suitable as it is soon Halloween in the world.  I just need pumpkins and lots of autumn leaves and a witch hat to complete the look. But could not do that as it was not a nice weather outside, cold and muddy is not ideal photography weather. Instead I took the photos in my student cooridor, which is not a usual thing I do. Living in a student cooridor comes with many surprises and todays surprise was that someone had placed out lots of tiny cat statues in all the windows, which I thought was extremely cute, cat owner as I am (as many of you know, I got my dog Ådi, but I also have two old cats in my household and a puppy named Tequila). I so loved that almost sickly cute look the statues gave, and it only need a pair of flowers and some knitted table cloths to fully get that old women style.

Other weird things that has happend the year I lived here is cats running around in the house free, things with a note attached, saying “Take this” appear randomly. Comics gets taped upon the windows, it exists a trillions bikes in this house with no owners and when people don’t want their stuff anymore they go down to the basement so other people can go and collect the stuff for free. The people are nice though (I live in the nicest student cooridoor I think), for example of some of my neighbours, it is a guy who always phone his parents at two in the morning (I know it as the walls are thin), and a other guy who eats pizza on pretty much a daily basis and still look slim. Everyone always says hi and are friendly, and well…I could not have got a better student cooridor then this.

Ugly

Hey all! This is an incoming spam of text. Just warned you. :)

I know I am uneven when it comes to blogging, but sometimes I can’t justify myself enough to sit down and blog as it is time consuming just as any hobby. But sometimes you need to put hobbies on the shelf and I had to do it for a week as the most life changing thing has happend to me, EVER. I will not say it here right now as I have not told all my closests yet and I think they want to hear it from me personally instead of reading it on my blog.  But in time you will notice, you few nice people who read my dear blog.

Instead I want to talk about something enterily diffrent, uglyness. I am one person that really likes ugly things and I try to appreciate all the things in life that others never cast a second glimpse on, and it is noticed in my style (I call my style clowny cute, but you can also say ugly cute about it). Most of the clothes I have is things people lost/hide away in a closet/gave it away to a second hand shop/other random thing where you don’t love your clothes, instead finding them so ugly that you do not even remember why you even bought it. You recognize this right? So do I.

Quite on the contrary, for being a collector of ugly things I also have a few things in my wardrobe I absolutely hate and do not realise why I even bought them. I mean, it is so not me, like a white blazer with gigantic shoulders, why did I buy that? Or a scarf with black flowers on, on a black background, how did it end up in my wardrobe? I realised this when my latest shopping find arrived, and I just thought “Oki, how the hell did I think when I bought this?!!!” I to can not appreciate things I find ugly. But today I finally decided to make a change, and wear all those clothes I so find is not me (not many but they exist) so here is the only photo of my closets nightmare, appreciated and brought onto daylight (or evening, as I took it at 6. It gets dark here fast now).  Enjoy!

Headband: Scarf found on the street

Blazer: Popped up in my wardrobe one day

Skirt: Same as with the blazer

Shirt: Avanna

Tights: Lindex

The thing to ask now is, what do you do with the things you absolutely hate and find ugly? Do you keep them, like me, in the black hole a wardrobe can be, or do you remake them or what?

Ok, alot of talk of uglyness but one beautiful thing is Swedens evening sky’s this time of the year. I will end my post (and continue watch Glee, seriously I forgot that it has been aired again since september, need to keep up) with a photo of the magical sky. Have a great life!

The River University

I am quite privileged as I am studying on one of the most beautiful Universitys in Sweden here in Norrköping. It is beautifully located next to the towns river and the old industrial landscape, and having streaming waterfalls and beautiful buildings just outside the classroom window makes it truely a joy to go to school every day.  Even on those dark grey autumn days. Using this fact plus having a husband who has started to grow an interest in photography, we took a lunch break together and did take some outfit photos in these settings. This photos is taken just outside of the main building, so hopefully you will know why I call my university the River University.

Cakes and lavender in a butterfly garden

Hey all!

Life is good atm, and here is my sunday last week. A not so warm day, but a day when my husband to tried to cheer me up, which was needed as I had been crying alot lately, feeling all stressed out. It has been alot with my school and worrying about money, and I got the flu on top of it, so it was some horrible weeks. Last wednesday though everything sorted out to the best, and a huge weight did vanish from my shoulders.

But back to Adams (succeded) attempt to cheer me up. It started with a huge cake order and tea russian style (tea in a glass) on the café Brödernas here in town.

Starting with the top one and going down, it is apple pie, a chocolate ball, sticky cake (the best Sweden have to offer in food way, if you come here, do not forget to try it) and cheese cake with dark chocolate. Unhealthy I know, but sometimes you just need 4 cakes on the same time. Of course we took a long walk on it down the riverside, stopping at one of my favorite parts of Norrköping, a beautiful butterfly garden hidden as a little treasure behind some trees.

It was full blooming lavenders in the garden also, which you were allowed to pick. I was so amazed by this and picked a big bouquet and sat down and smelt in and talked to my husband about why I felt sad, which was a good way of getting things out of me without paying lots of money going to a shrink. Talking to someone you love is better then any therapy session.

Part of the butterfly garden. It is alot more beautiful in full bloom, now the flowers was fading away, not being seen again until next year. I dressed in all this quite colorful clothes to make myself happy, with pink, red and purple and also a dotted scarf from Karl Lagerfeldt which had turned up in the mail the same day (or maybe a few days before or so, I am not so good in checking my mail box). In the background you can also see my soul mate Ådi, who was a very happy dog this day as he got a full package of bacon for himself. His joy of getting nice things to eat was so full of joy also for me. And believe it or not, this small tiny things really cheered me up, and I walked home with a smile on my lips and continued to watch the series Bones the rest of the evening.

Do you have anyone who helps you feel more happy when your sad? What is your story?

12 pictures from the Culture Night

Good evening all!

I hope everything is fine out in the world. Ah you do? How great. I just wanted to share with you guys what I did last weekend, as it was a culture night in town here. Art, music, theaters and street shows could be found all over Norrköping. It was truely an amazing day and night. Here are exactly 12 photos from this day. Enjoy!

Patti Smith – Because the Night

Graffiti artworks was being made all over the town on big black boards. This one was pretty and I liked the colours.

Me, my brother Leo and Adam had decided to have a weird hats day, in order to celebrate the Culture Night.

Glutenfree cake made on nuts I got to taste for free on a cake buffée. It was really tasty and had a strong taste of chocolate.

I also got a free book with photographies of the beautiful town I live in. We will look closer on it an other day.

You could see this lanterns on a few places, this was the entrance to one of the work shops. Got to adore the pumpkins!

Beautiful Gobelin tapestry in the council house. It was so lovely to see this room again, as it was here I got married to Adam.

Something I enjoyed (and also dragged  two not so enthusiastic boys with me to see it) was the city archive. My second passion in life is books and especially history books, so you can understand I was excited to be here! No photos was allowed though. :(

Walking was something else we did quite alot. This outfit was quite dressed down for being me, normally I use more colours. Tunic is a gift, shoes is from Skopunkten and leggings is from HM.

Impressive fire show being made by some teenagers from the local circus.

The day ended with me eating barbequed marshmallows and drinking hot squash in the Sculpture Park. It was a great end of a good day.
