Fashion Blog News: Free People’s Lookbook meets Janis Joplin

Oki, I got to say that I love this style. It is somewhat a combination between Rock Chic and Bohemian, and it really makes me happy to see this, so I thought I got to share this with you all! I mean, one of my favorite singers of all time is Janis Joplin, she is my big idol in life, and this outfit strongly reminds me about her Just compare the pictures of her (the two first one’s) with the photos from Free People. You can see their inspiration quite clearly!

I do find this truely amazing. Janis Joplin clothes in a new form. That last lace dress is something that also went up on my wish list. It is amazing, and I am sure it can be with me for years on!

Any colour that she wants so long as it is black

Hey all people out there. I am not sure how many will read this as the summer is offically here, but here is a new outfit post from little me.  This is one of my absolut favorite outfits and I do wear it alot as I feel it is me in every single inch. All from the high pony tail, to the black pumps. This is me. Normally I also have orange leggings to it and knee socks, but it was way to hot for it, as you can see in the photos. 8 in the evening and the sun shines like it will never die. Goosh, I so love swedish summer. The light here is amazing, not like anything further south (oki, now I am just guessing, as I have not been in all countries further south, but I got this idea it is to hot).  And the foods, like herring (which I tried for the first time this midsummer, it tasted like gingerbread I thought) and fresh strawberries.  And the bathing the lakes, ice cold and fantastic. And that you get to spend time with your family and friends, like I did today. I was at my mums place and I got a gift from her (two picture frames with me and my husband) and played with my brother Dante in the park. All perfect and it belongs to the swedish summer. Oki, I will stop now writing about what I love about the swedish summer. Here are my outfit photos!

Skirt: Vila

Cardigan: Second hand (got it from a classmate)

Vest: GinaTricot

Shoes: Deichmann

What is your favorite thing with the summer in your respective countries? Is it the heat, or the rain, or the flowers. Lots of memories, good foods? Or that you can wear pretty dresses? Whatever you love with the summer, please tell me? :)

This post is actually my favorite so far on this blog, I feel so happy today, and I hope my good mood is showing to all of you guys. Have a great week!

Lots of love

Madeleine

Heat wave

Happy summer all. It is finally summer here, but I had to be indoors all day, trying to get in touch with goverment people and all that  stuff. It is pretty amazing how hard it is to talk with a person there, you always gets like “No, she is in a meeting”, “He is on vacation”, “Sorry, but we have 196 people before you in line, please hold!”. All of these things I have heard today. At the end of the day (like 22.00, you can’t see that in the photo though as in don’t really get dark here on the summer), I got enough of everything and sat down and relaxed under my favorite oak. I also took some time and did take some photos of my outfit…nothing fancy, just old clothes I found deep in my closet. I guess when you don’t have alot of money (I am a student, no student can afford lots of clothes during summertime = Shopping Spree good bye!), you have to make the best of what you have. :)

Skirt: Rio (store in Stockholm that sells Goth clothes, and this wonderful skirt)

Shirt: No label, got it from my class Clothes Swopping Day

Jacket: From Zelda, a now closed store in Eskilstuna

Nevermind my red face, I have not runned, I just get burnt by the sun today, as normal. I never get brown, I instead end up looking like a lobster. Guess why I only travel on winters? Well, except this summer, I will go to both Scotland and England, but normally I mean.

Have a great heat wave!

First swim at lake Ensjön

Hey everybody. As the weather was great today, me and my brother Jonathan did take our bikes out to Lake Ensjön (Ensjön means One Lake in swedish, if you find that interesting) with some sodas, ice cream and berries, to take our first swim outdoors for this year. When we got there, it was only us two, and that gave us a great opportunity to have a siblings talk. It was the perfect ending of an great weekend.

Mika – Big Girl (You are beautiful)

I did have some concerns about showing these photos on my blog, as I am ashamed of my body, and felt quite bad over how I looked for a long time. But I been working hard to get my self esteem up, and realised that no one can look perfect. So I am now taking the bulls by the horns and declare myself proud over how I look.  So this below is my photos of a day on the beach with my brother, but they are also a test for me, to prove I am not ashamed anymore.

Bikini: Gina Tricot

Nail Polish: Viva la diva

Sunglasses: Lindex

In the fashion industry, and also in the normal world, it is such an hysteria around how people shall look and how people shall be. Be skinny, be blonde, be long, don’t eat that, wear this, don’t wear that, so many do’s and don’ts, it is a miracle so many people are still themselves, being unique and dare to be what they want. Dare to be the person they were mean’t to be. I guess this post is a little tribute to all you lovely unique people out there. Continue be unique! I promise I am on my way there.

My favorite of the resorts

As many people noticed, the resorts images is now out and many people write about their favorite parts. I shall not be worse, so here comes my favorite outfits on the resorts I have been looking at.

Peter Pilotto Resort S/S12

I really like the naturalistic touch to the Peter Pilottos clothing, but I also like that it is not obvious floral (no pretty neat motifs of various flowers).  The dress to the right reminds more about the leaves and the stem of a green plant. The left dress I picked because it had some floral, but it was nicely cut off with the red/blue area, making it more abstact looking.

Acne Resort 2012

Truth be told. When I first looked at Acne’s clothes I got a little dissappointed. I am tired of the clothes being entirely in one colour, without patterns. I guess that is more me then the Acne clothes itself, because I have been wearing one coloured clothes during most part of my teenage years. But then I found this two outfits and I actually love that pattern on the dress/shirt. It is also as you can see, good being combined with diffrent colours, and the pale yellow and the turqoise is something that I could see in many resorts. Maybe that is next years two big colours? I hope so.

Alexander McQueen Resort 2012

It was alot of black leather, and white lace in McQueens resort, but that did not make my heart rush. Black leather, I mean seriously, we don’t need more animals getting killed in order to make clothes (this is my personal opinion!). But these two outfits I liked, and it seems like the naturalistic theme comes again in these. The right outfit with its shimmering animal print details in gold, and the left with its clean green look. Directly from the jungle?

Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2012

More naturalistic from the Marc by Marc Jacobs brand. I have spotted 3 trends in next years clothing, natural images, romantic lace and neat pastels colours (like yellow, pink, turqoise) and masculine details with clean lines and leather. Have you done the same?

Stella McCartney Resort 2012

I did like the Stella McCartney clothes, and choose these two because of their clean lines. Notice the snake print on the bag, I loved it. I think it is safe to say that yellow will be a good colour to wear this year, and that makes one person (aka me) extremely happy. What is your thoughts? (Goosh that took forever, who realised putting together a resort post would take so much time?)

Black flowers

Just wanted to show you guys todays outfit. I took in indoors as it is stormy weather outside. After yesterdays colourful party, I wanted to dress myself down a little, and dressing down for me, is wearing black, black and more black. But as it is still holiday (the only way you can notice it though is that all the shops are closed and all people are indoors), I wanted to add some flowers to it, in form of a hat and tights.

Dress: Monki

Hat: HM

Tights: HM

I know that bright and strong colours belongs to the summer, but I really felt for black this day. And nothing wrong with that, you can’t be always be bright. But on the other hand, you can’t always dress in black either (or you can, but it is boring). I find the combinations of diffrent colours being the most interesting part, and that you so easily can change peoples moods, depending on what you are wearing. I have a friend who said once to me “I get so happy when I see your clothes, they are always so funny”. That day, I was wearing a bright yellow dress (for you who don’t know, yellow is my favorite colour) and it did hit me for the first time, that what we are wearing actually can change the mood of people, both ourselves, and others. I guess it was at that point, I grew an interest in fashion, and clothing over all. That just wearing something simple as a colourful dress, or a pair of black shoes can make people glad.  What I want to know, after this little story is: Have you ever noticed the same thing?

Midsummer Celebrations

Hey, I’m back after a great midsummer with my friends in Linköping (Norrköping’s twin city). My brother Jonathan also participated and I think he thought it was just as much fun as I did. I had a little tough time choosing clothes, as the traditional thing is flowery for girls, but I really did not want that (except for in my hair). So instead I went for my christmas dress (hey, who says you can’t use it several times during the year?) along with a pair of water colored leggings to make it more summery. And I think it turned out pretty well. But now, photos! (Many photos I may add. It was so fun!)

The day started with that Jonathan and I got dressed and ate breakfast. Mine was bread with butter and pickles, chocolate milk and camomile tea. Great for a long day.

Then we went out to hunt after wild strawberries. (My brother is in the picture)

We found some!

Don’t they look tasty?

Some photos of my clothing of the day.

Ådi (Odie), my cute dog!

Then we took the train to Linköping and my friends. We had a fun and very long dinner with all the traditional foods like herring, salmon, dill potatoes, lots of strawberries and for some reason, we also had banana bread.

After that, we went to an other party close by. It was not so fun as the first one, but I did get to talk alot with Eve, a person involved in the same party as I am.

After that, we went back home. During the entire day, I also took lots of pictures of flowers, so I will end this post with some of them.

Over all, a great day. The only thing I regret is that I did not visit a maypole and dance around it a little. If you celebrate midsummer, how was your holiday? :D

Fashion Blog News: Jewelry Give Away

Interesting give away here. You can win bijouteries, like necklases, earrings and bracelets, and it was the last thing that did catch my eye. I am in love with bracelts and got a huge collection of those. Got to show you all that one day! Bit bijouteries aside, the real interesting part about this give away is that all goes to charity.(If your interest more in their stuff and not the give away, just click here)

While winning, you will also donate food to children in third world countries. I do find this very cute of those people who do it, it is kind to so many people. Actually, I am so happy that so many people on the blogs I have seen, care so much for their surroundings. If everyone just help out each other, just do a little thing, this will sure be a better world.

Oki, I can’t really focus on writing good atm, as I am tired, so this will be a short post. Tomorrow I am away for Midsummer Celebrations.

Lots of love people

Fashion Blog News: Versace for HM

I am late on this, I know. But I wanted it to grow on me one day, before I am writing anything about this, you know, think things through.  As you all know, Versace is the next big fashion house to design for HM and for the first time when it comes to HM, I am extremely excited about this! I am willing to camp outside HM’s store in order to lay my hands on that flowery dress you can see in the sneakpeak photos.

I have never bought any of the other HM/designer cooperation things, because I have found it hard to see the things on me. Even if it did look amazing on the hangers. I was also thoughtful about this at first (even if I linked the good news to my mum right away, saying “To the autumn – Time to save?!”) as I do not see me as this design clothes wearing person. But I guess, I have changed, and I am starting to appreciate quality before quantity more and more now. I am, in other words, getting more mature. And I also love this dress.
